Nuno Espírito Santo está próximo de garantir um compatriota como primeiro reforço no Nottingham Forest: o Maisfutebol apurou que Gelson Martins está em negociações avançadas para trocar o Mónaco pelo clube inglês.
Sem espaço no emblema do Principado na atual temporada, o extremo português chegou a receber algumas sondagens dos Estados Unidos e da Rússia, mas deixou sempre clara a preferência pelo desafio na Premier League.
Aos 28 anos, Gelson tem apenas mais seis meses de contrato válido (até junho de 2024), por isso também o Mónaco vê com bons olhos uma transferência em definitivo já em janeiro de 2024.

Der portugiesische Flügelstürmer Gelson Martins ist laut dem Portal Maisfutebol im Anflug auf die Midlands. Den mittlerweile 28-jährigen Rechtsaußen hat sich die AS Monaco 2019 noch 30 Millionen Euro kosten lassen. Das wohl letzte Pflichtspiel für die Monegassen hat Martins im Februar absolviert, und angesichts des im Juni auslaufenden Vertrags dürfte er für Nottingham Forest zu einem Schnäppchen werden.
